Garth supervised the casting of Chicago 2018 at the Phoenix Theatre, continuing a relationship with this show that has lasted since 2001.He was musical director of Chicago for several years, both at the Adelphi Theatre and on tour in the UK and world-wide. He trained the five winners of the Channel 4 show ‘Musicality’, and has acted as supervisor on European and national tours, including the last two UK tours. He helped prepare the 2017 Danish-language production of the show.


He was associate conductor of The Sound of Music, at the London Palladium, and musical director for Denise Van Outen’s one-woman show, Some Girl I Used To Know.

Other credits include: musical director of Sister Act, South Pacific, Anything Goes, My Fair Lady, The Sound of Music, & Me and My Girl (Kilworth House Theatre); musical director of West Side Story (Prince of Wales Theatre) and Cabaret (Chichester Festival Theatre).

Garth has taught as vocal coach at the Guildhall, Arts Educational Schools, Mountview Academy, Italia Conti, Urdang Academy and Performers College.
